Projects Developed Using HOME Funding

Rotary Subdivision: 1998 acquisition of two existing homes, rehabilitation of homes, and construction of 7 new single-family homes by Community Housing Initiative. The project is located in Hartford. Funding was provided as interim financing to be converted to downpayment assistance for homebuyers. This was a CHDO funded project.

Washington Heights: This 2001 project included the renovation of a vacant building in the City of Hartford into 50 elderly rental units using Low Income Housing Tax Credits as the primary funding source. Funding, in the form of a grant, was used by the Hartford Community Development Authority to reduce debt service that in turn reduced the unit rental costs for 6 of the units. Supportive services are also provided.

Habitat Condominiums: Funding was provided to Washington County Habitat for Humanity in 2004 for the purchase of land and project construction supervision for the development of 2 four-unit condominiums for low and moderate income households. The project is located in the City of West Bend. Each unit will receive a $17,500 subsidy reduced by 1/25 for each year of ownership or payment of the balance to be paid upon sale or transfer of the title. This was a CHDO funded project.
